Kranji NEWater Factory is a 40,000 m³/day dual-membrane water reclamation plant. It utilises a combination of Memcor’s CMF-S microfiltration (MF), reverse osmosis (RO), and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to produce high-quality reclaimed water from secondary effluent.
The plant adopts a multi-barrier treatment approach to ensure effective pathogen removal and consistent water quality.
Main Treatment Processes
- Secondary Effluent Pumping with Chlorine Dosing and Equalisation Tank
- Microfiltration System – 6 × 480S10T CMF-S Cells
- Filtered Water Storage with Chlorine Dosing
- Reverse Osmosis System – 5 × 2-Stage RO Trains
- (49 vessels in 1st stage, 24 vessels in 2nd stage, 7 elements per vessel)
- Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection – 3 Units
- Product Water Storage and Pumping with pH and Chlorine Control
The integrated CMF, RO, and UV systems provide a robust multi-barrier against pathogens. A key advantage of the CMF-S system is its integrity testing capability, which has demonstrated >4-log removal of particles greater than 0.2 microns in various applications.
