Choa Chu Kang Waterworks (CCKWW) is the first waterworks in Singapore to adopt ceramic membrane technology for filtration. It is also the first water treatment plant in Singapore to harness solar energy to support its operational needs.
A total of 3,333 solar panels have been installed at CCKWW, generating approximately 1.1 gigawatt-hours (GWh) annually — equivalent to the yearly electricity consumption of about 247 Housing & Development Board (HDB) households.
